
Spring is off to a good start with some new places to eat and drink.
Whether you’re a fan of healthy salads, spicy hotpot or comfort foods, check out these six new eateries in Reno.
Dub’s Sports Lounge
95 N. Sierra St.
Dubs sports lounge is set to open on Saturday, April 6, in the former home of The Stick, a sports lounge that closed in November after eight years in business.
Dubs is co-owned by 27-year-olds Derek Sornson and Tristen Houston, college friends and sports enthusiasts who hope to rally Reno sports lovers.
The new two-story sports lounge will feature 25 large TVs, sports viewing events, classic game-day food options and specialty craft shots. The grand opening event will include a Final Four watch party and the chance to win a $1,500 bar tab.

Mountain Mike’s
1201 Baring Blvd.
This California pizza chain has opened its third location in the greater Reno area with a new Mountain Mike’s Pizzas in Sparks.
The new pizzeria is owned and operated by Reno-area locals Dalvir Janjua, Manpreet Rai and Kamaljit Singh, who own the two other Mountain Mike’s locations in Reno as well as two others in Stockton, California.
Foodshed Cafe
240 Court St.
After a hiatus of several years, a Reno cafe focused on healthy and sustainable food reopened in April.
Foodshed Cafe, located at its former home within the Great Basin Community Food Co-op, 240 Court St. in downtown Reno, will serve bowls, grilled sandwiches, soups, burritos and smoothie bowls. A new salad bar will feature organic and local greens and produce based on seasonality, and caffeine lovers can enjoy beverages from No City Coffee.
The cafe also caters to a variety of dietary preferences, including vegan, paleo, seed-oil free, gluten-free and more.
The cafe, which was open from 2017 to 2020, has been reimagined and will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Over two dozen local producers supply food and produce to the co-op, including Snowball Ranch, Holley Family Farms, Kool Kids Ranch and Little Frog Farm.

Tasty Pot
716 S. Virginia St.
A few weeks ago Reno got its first Tasty Pot, a Taiwanese hotpot chain with locations across the U.S. The menu offers roughly a dozen hotpot styles whose spice levels customers can modify. Diners can also customize their hotpots with different veggies, meat and more.
Pasta La Vista
Reno Public Market, 299 E. Plumb Lane
Pasta La Vista is a new eatery from restaurateur Can Uzay, a former computer engineer and mobile game creator from Turkey who broke into Reno’s food scene last year with his first restaurant, Mediterranean Bae.
The menu, which boats of pastas tossed in a Parmigiano Reggiano cheese wheel, includes build-your-own pastas ($14.95+), charcuterie platters ($19.95) and desserts such as tiramisu and ricotta cheesecake ($9.95).

Midnight Coffee Roasting Cafe and Roastery
1401 S. Virginia St. #250
This coffee roasting company has opened its second cafe with a new location in Midtown. Midnight’s cafe offers a variety of coffee, drinks and pastries.
