Arsalan Sheikh Named Chief Medical Officer, Union Hospital

Arsalan Sheikh Named Chief Medical Officer, Union HospitalArsalan Sheikh, D.O., MBA, FACE, has been named chief medical officer of ChristianaCare Union Hospital.

In this role, Dr. Sheikh will serve as the senior physician executive of Union Hospital, responsible for quality, safety, care standardization, clinical outcomes, and patient experience across the continuum of care. He will be the liaison between the medical staff, operational leadership and the community.

An accomplished physician leader with more than 15 years of progressive leadership experience, Dr. Sheikh most recently served as medical director of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism for Luminis Health, which serves over 1 million patients in Maryland.

He previously served as vice president and chief medical officer for Grace Medical Center and physician advisor for Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, part of LifeBridge Health. He also worked as chair of the Department of Medicine at Grace Medical Center, formerly known as Bon Secours Hospital.

Dr. Sheikh earned his medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine and an MBA in healthcare management from the University of Delaware.

He will report to Amy Marston, MBA, MPH, campus executive director of ChristianaCare Union Hospital.
